Teyujagua paradoxa is the name of an exceptionally well-preserved fossil from the Early Triassic of Brazil. It is a new species for science that provides a remarkable insight into the origin of archosauriforms.
The detailed description of the holotype required an accurate depiction of the features of the skull. I created these drawings with the scientific supervision of palaeontologist Felipe Pinheiro and relying on several photographs and a three-dimensional print of the original fossil. The research is published in the Zoological Journal of the Linnean Society, under the title Osteology of the archosauromorph Teyujagua paradoxa and the early evolution of the archosauriform skull.
